<\/p>\nThere has been a lot going on this year, a lot of change and intrigue on every front.\u00c2\u00a0 Some very large things going on in my personal life and a lot of excitement around my professional life.\u00c2\u00a0 Today being Thanksgiving, I figured it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s time to step back for a minute, pause, and be grateful for everything that life has given me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
First of all, the professional front.\u00c2\u00a0 This has been a very exciting year at Red 5 Studios.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s an MMO game studio that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been at for a bit over 2 years now.\u00c2\u00a0 This company has provided one of the best work environments that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve ever had the pleasure to be part of.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a company that really values and takes care of it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s employees.\u00c2\u00a0 There have been so many developments with the company and our title has come so far.\u00c2\u00a0 Unfortunately, I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t delve into details on any of that stuff at this point, but hopefully that will change when we announce.\u00c2\u00a0 Red 5 has also managed to get one of the greatest groups of people together.\u00c2\u00a0 This group really is like an extended family.\u00c2\u00a0 There is a tremendous amount of talent among the people, but almost no ego.\u00c2\u00a0 There is a tremendous amount of compassion and team spirit.\u00c2\u00a0 When things come up and it get\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a bit difficult to handle, this group really steps up and helps each other through it.\u00c2\u00a0 This doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t feel like a group of people that you just get up and go to work with, this is a group of people that I genuinely love spending time with and I feel grateful to be a part of it every single day.<\/p>\n
On the family front, I have to say the biggest thing I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m thankful for this year is my wonderful girlfriend, Connie.\u00c2\u00a0 She really has been a huge bright spot in my life.\u00c2\u00a0 In a lot of ways, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re very different people, but I think that has really proven itself to be a blessing in disguise.\u00c2\u00a0 Her thoughts and outlook on life regularly challenge me to look at things that I take for granted in a new light.\u00c2\u00a0 She compliments and pushes me in so many different ways and my life has turned out all the better for it.<\/p>\n
Also, the biggest piece of news on the family front\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00c2\u00a0 I found out not too long ago that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m going to be a dad!\u00c2\u00a0 We just had our first ultrasound and I must say, wow.\u00c2\u00a0 What an experience.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s absolutely amazing watching that screen and seeing your child for the first time.\u00c2\u00a0 I really don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have the words to describe that feeling.\u00c2\u00a0 The baby is only 9 weeks old about 2.4cm in length right now and it really looks a bit more like a turtle with a large head, but it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s MY turtle with a large head!\u00c2\u00a0 Being at the very start of the holiday season and having this news run around in my head, I have to say, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m really excited for the future holidays.\u00c2\u00a0 I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t wait to be able to share these special moments with my child, to see the excitement in their face on Christmas morning, to see them running door to door on Halloween, to surprise him\/her on their birthday.\u00c2\u00a0 I think it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s going to be a wild and crazy ride and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sure there will be some bumps along the road, but I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m so excited about it!\u00c2\u00a0 My biggest fear, and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sure I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not unique in this, is I hope I can be a good dad.\u00c2\u00a0 I hope my child feels and genuinely understands how much I care for them and that they feel that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m there for them, no matter what.\u00c2\u00a0 I hope I can be a good dad.<\/p>\n
